Ski Runs In Bansko

Bansko offers visitors excellent conditions for ski tourism, i.e. the newly constructed cabin liftand modern ski facilities in a combination with ancient Bulgarian architecture and delicious traditional dishes.
You can fly to Sofia, which is the nearest airport, and from there it will take you 2 hours by car or bus to get to Bansko.

The mountain - with its 70 km of ski runs, ranging from broad blue runs to the more challenging red and black runs, the mountain has a lot to offer to all skiers. The ski runs are situated at an altitude of 990 m to 2 600 m.

Natural snow conditions continue from December to mid-April. There are 230 snow cannons in Bankso, able to cover 90% of the snowy slopes, which ensure good conditions for skiing by the end of April.


All ski lifts are new. The gondola and the other 4-, 6- and 8-chair lifts are with a total length of 22 km, and they provide access to slopes for all levels of skiing. The 4-chair lift will take you to the highest ski-run in the country, right beneath the Todorka peak (2 746 m) – the Plateau at 2 600 m. From there you have a good selection of ski-runs, depending on your skiing ability, and you can get back to Banderishka Polyana, where the gondola’s line ends. There you can find many fast food restaurants, tea rooms, coffee bars and small restaurants where you can have something for lunch.
After this unique 16 km ski-run, the road will take you to the town, exactly where you got onto the gondola and in just 50 meters from the nearest place offering cold beer.

The slopes are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders, and they are being prepared regularly with snow cannons throughout the season and are well lit. There are 20 slopes in the resort, which are always very well prepared, offering ski runs for all levels of skiing.

In addition to the excellent ski-runs, Bansko is one of the best places for free riding on the Balkans. When there is plenty of snow, there are some interesting routes through the trees and a lot of places outside of slopes for downhill skiing.

If you decide to try this, be careful and better hire a local ski instructor. Bansko snow park can offer to snowboarders well-arranged jumps and rails. The Park is located in track 11 on the Plateau and is usually open until the end of January.
